
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jamesenez on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actress and producer. She started her career in Mexico with leading roles in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), for which she was awarded an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were only some of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's performance as Frida Kahlo painter in Frida (2002), a biographical film she wrote and produced and won her the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6]. In addition, she received her Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Later on, Hayek focused more on filmmaking while also appearing in the action-centered pictures Once Upon a Time in Mexico
