Young's acting career began in theatre. In the role of Mary in The Life's initial group, Young performed her Broadway premiere as Mary in 1997 on Broadway in 1997. Also, she appeared off-Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily We Rolled Along (1994), as well as the role of Randy Newman's Faust (from 1995-1996). [3][10] In 1995, she made her television debut on a recurring character on"the" NBC daytime soap drama Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. Between 2000 and 2011, Young played in more than thirty TV shows. As of 2003, Young got a role as an actor on Peacemakers, a USA Network show Peacemakers. Following nine episodes of the season, the show was cancelled. The actress played recurring roles on the Lifetime legal drama For the People as Deputy Dist. Atty. Agnes Hunt on NBC drama American Dreams in 2003 as Diane Shaw, Dr. Grace Miller on NBC Scrubs in 2004 as Monica West, Assistant State Attorney Monica West in CBS CSI: Miami between 2005 and 2006, as well as Ellen Darling on ABC soap Dirty Sexy Money in 2008-2009 as the youngest son-in law in the Darling Family. From 2011 until 2013, she played Beth Clemmons in Criminal Minds.
